2-WEEK INTENSIVE: CAMERA and MICHAEL CHEKHOV Technique
September 5 -20, 2018 in Hudson (NY)
We are accustomed to hide our feelings… Throughout our lives we are doing counter-exercises; we are doing everything we can to confine our feelings under our skins so that we show nothing and radiate nothing… All is masked; all is hidden. We must exercise … to open ourselves and show to the audience our souls… (Michael Chekhov)
In this 2 week Intensive we will be working with Michael Chekhov’s Acting Technique and engaging with the camera as a performative space. Work includes text & work with partners. During the course there will be regular opportunities to see one’s own work projected on the screen for review & reflection. In addition to the hands-on learning experience, each actor will leave the Intensive with footage of their own on-camera work, recorded in HD (1080p) with quality audio (48K).
