A program for actors / theater makers
* who have trained as / or are working actors / directors / filmmakers / writers / creatives
* who are looking to develop a working knowledge of Michael Chekhov’s Technique
* who want to grow in their creativity and practical understanding of this approach

When & Where
July 16 – 20th, 2018. The Michael Chekhov School is located in the historic City of Hudson (NY), two hours from New York City. Hudson is accessible by train (Amtrak); the closest airports are Albany (NY) and all NYC airports.

Daily Schedule
9:30 – 12:30 Morning Session
12:30 – 2:30 Lunch
2:30 – 5:30 Afternoon Session

The Course
The Michael Chekhov School is hosting this 5-day lab as an opportunity for participants to work on individual questions with regard to the Michael Chekhov Technique & may serve as
* an introduction to the Michael Chekhov School and this Technique
* a continuation of your journey with the Technique and deepening of your practical understanding of this work
* an opportunity to work with your own specific artistic and technical questions in a collaborative atmosphere


Core faculty for the 5 days is Ragnar Freidank, acting teacher, film directorco-artistic director for the DVD series Master Classes in the Michael Chekhov Technique. Guest faculty include Fern Sloan who is bringing her experience of more than 40 years with the Michael Chekhov work to the lab.

Accommodations can be found through airbnb. A list of some area motels & B&Bs can be found here. If you will not have a car, you will want to arrange for housing within walking distance to our work space: 360 Warren Street, Hudson, NY.

Possibilities includeFox Hill Camping (518-392-3714) in Spencertown (NY), or at the nearby Lake Taghkanic State Park  & Copake Falls, all driving-distance from Hudson.

While no childcare is provided by the Michael Chekhov School, the nearby local Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School & Farm is offering a Day Camp / Overnight Camp:
* ages 4-7 (July 9-20) Kinder Camp
* ages 8-10 (July 15 -20) Farm Camp
