The Metamorphosis of Artists

by Thaís Loureiro

Thaís Loureiro, from Michael Chekhov Brasil, spent the spring of 2017 in upstate NY at the Michael Chekhov School’s five-week immersion. This poem is her ode to the world of the Michael Chekhov Technique, written as she was immersed with Fern Sloan, Ted Pugh and Ragnar Freidank. Her poem holds the beauty of the work with the same eloquence as she embodied it.

Along with Hugo Moss, Thaís founded Michael Chekhov Brasil in 2012. Fern Sloan is their honorary president. Thaís passed away after a sudden illness in September 2019.
