A program for actors
* who already have a working knowledge of the Michael Chekhov Technique
* who are looking to develop their own practical understanding of this work
* who want to grow in applying this technique to their theater-work on stage

When & Where
July 8 (arrival) – July 18 (departure) – in Hudson (NY), 2 hours from New York City.
Hudson is accessible by train (Amtrak); the closest airports are Albany (NY) and all NYC airports.

The Course
In the morning we will be working on fundamental technique.
In the afternoons we will be working on application & scenes.
All our work together will explore individual acting-questions and facilitate each actor’s practical relationship to technique.

Daily Schedule (7/9 – 7/17)
9:30 – 12:30 Morning Session
12:30 – 2:30 Lunch
2:30 – 5:30 Afternoon Session
(+ individual rehearsal-time in the evenings; 1 day is off)

Our core faculty* includes Ted PughFern Sloan who are bringing their experience of more than 40 years with the Michael Chekhov work to this course, and Ragnar Freidank, co-director of the DVD series Master Classes in the Michael Chekhov Technique. Additional faculty includes Joanna Merlin, the last living direct student of Michael Chekhov’s (as her schedule allows). All of our faculty are teachers for MICHA, the Michael Chekhov Association. Each actor is responsible for arranging their own accommodations. Housing in Hudson can be found in local B&B’s (for example at Barry Butterfield’s) or through airbnb.

Possibilities include Fox Hill Camping (518-392-3714) in Spencertown (NY), or at the nearby Lake Taghkanic State Park  & Copake Falls, all driving-distance from Hudson.
