3 Week Acting Laboratory

The Course
This 3-week course is for actors, teachers, and other performing professions who want to more deeply explore what the Michael Chekhov Technique has to offer in terms of performing. Guided by Michael Chekhov’s approach to acting, we are working for three weeks on processes to develop, rehearse and perform individual material:
* Work on deepening any aspect of Michael Chekhov’s Technique under the guidance of Ted Pugh & Fern Sloan who are bringing their experience of more than 40 years to you.
* Take individual coaching sessions with Ted & Fern to practically address questions related to this technique and your own approach & practice.
* Develop with Ragnar your intuitive approach to text & the performance situation as it may relate to theater, film, or other performance-scenarios.

Cost
$2400 (3 weeks)

Part-Time Option
Participants can join us for 1, 2 or 3 weeks @ a rate of $800 / week.
The course is limited to 12 actors.

In Hudson (NY), 2 hours from New York City.Hudson is accessible by train (Amtrak); the closest airports are Albany (NY) and all NYC airports.

Faculty
Our core faculty includes Ted Pugh, Fern Sloan & Ragnar Freidank. Ted & Fern are bringing their experience of more than 40 years with the Michael Chekhov work to this course. Ragnar is an award-winning filmmaker and co-director of the acclaimed DVD series Master Classes in the Michael Chekhov TechniqueAdditional faculty include the last living direct student of Michael Chekhov Joanna Merlin, plus other guests. Accommodation
For the duration of the course affordable housing is available at Barry Butterfield’s B&B in Hudson, walking distance from our work-space. A limited number of shared and single rooms are available; please inquire for details. Alternatively, actors may wish to arrange their own housing through airbnb, etc. When booking your own accommodations, we recommend you choose a place within walking distance to 360 Warren Street in Hudson, NY.
